Parental Involvement

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT: Parental involvement is an integral part of Title I/AIS. All schools receiving Title I funds are required to have a Home-School Compact* which outlines how parents, the entire school staff and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement. In addition, each Title I school is required to invite parents of participating students to an annual meeting so that they are informed of the Title I program and their right to be involved. Title I schools must also maintain open and ongoing communication with parents through semi-annual conferences and quarterly progress reports.  The Oneonta City School District Title I Parental Involvement Policy* fully explains the home/school partnership as required by the No Child Left Behind Act. (*both documents can be found at the bottom of this page.)
