Backpack Policy

OMS Students will not be permitted to carry a backpack during the school day. They are permitted to use backpacks to carry their books and supplies to and from school, but students are not permitted to carry them between classes.  We have however, decided to allow ONLY cinch sacks/sports packs and small purses to be used during the school day for those students who wish to do so.
(No larger than: 15*2*13 (H* W* L) This might also help students who wish to keep their Chromebook in a cinch bag for organizational purposes.

Students have an opportunity to go to their lockers several times a day: before first period, before or after lunch, and before boarding the bus at dismissal.  Backpacks must remain in the student's locker until the end of last period.

This policy is in response to the following concerns:

Health, Safety and Organization. The weight student's carry on their backs, safety in classrooms and hallways and organization of school items on a daily basis.
