Grace and her husband moved to Oneonta in 1965. They raised two daughters and now have two grandaughters in the school system. Grace taught English at Oneonta High School for thirty-two years. She was active in professional organizations and was President of the New York State English Council and on the executive committee of the National Council of Teachers of English. Of numerous recognitions, most cherished is the Thurgood Marshall Award presented by the NAACP. She is in her fourth term on the Oneonta School Board.

Darren was born and raised in Oneonta.  In 1985, he was a member of the Oneonta Little League All-Star Team that won the New York State Championship.  Darren graduated from Oneonta High School in 1990.  He attended SUNY Oneonta and received his undergraduate in 1995 in Secondary Education (emphasis in Biology) with a minor in Chemistry.   After graduation Darren taught Biology, Life Science and Advanced Placement Biology at Unatego Jr. /Sr. High School. He also coached modified baseball and J.V. football.  In 2000, Darren received his Master’s Degree in Secondary Teaching from SUNY Oneonta. 

Currently, Darren is a partner in Better Home Improvement Company in Oneonta with his brother and father.  Darren and his wife Tracy have two daughters, Jordan and Jenna, both students in the Oneonta School District.  Darren enjoys playing softball, volleyball, golf, and taking family vacations.  He volunteers his time coaching Pee-wee football and youth basketball and softball through the Oneonta Boy’s and Girl’s Club.

Rosalie Higginswas born and raised in Otsego County and moved back to the area from Delhi 13 years ago. Rosalie enjoyed a 35-year career at SUNY Delhi before retiring as Dean of Business and Hospitality in 2006. She taught in both the business and hospitality departments before taking an administrative position. She earned degrees from both SUNY Albany and SUNY Binghamton.

Rosalie presently serves as a volunteer for The Executive Service Corps of Otsego and Delaware Counties and is a member of the Oneonta Rotary Club. She also does educational consulting. Rosalie has been a member of the Oneonta City School District Board of Education since September 2007. She has two grandchildren enrolled in the district.

Andrew Puritz
Term Ends: June 30, 2012

Andrew Puritz has been a lawyer in private practice for thirty years, and has seen his four children grow up as they moved through the Oneonta City School system. He has served on the School Board for ten years.

Mr. Puritz has taught Jewish history for fifteen years at Temple Beth El in Oneonta and has served on numerous community boards. He has been an election inspector and attorney advocating for voting rights for many years. He has participated in numerous forums on civil rights, is active in professional and community theatre, is a volunteer in numerous local public service activities and enjoys running his own performance production company. In 2008 he received the Thurgood Marshall Award from the Oneonta Branch of the NAACP. He is married to Dr. Joan Puritz, an Oneonta veterinarian.

Jamie Reynolds

Jamie Reynolds has been employed in banking and financial services for 24 years. He has been with NBT bank for 21 of those years, 13 of which have been in Oneonta. Currently, he is the Senior Vice-President and Regional Executive for all of NBT Bank's operations including Commercial Lending in the Greater Oneonta area. He has been active on many local boards including the Otsego County Chamber, the Catskill Symphony Orchestra, the Friends of Bassett, the Oneonta Rotary Club and the Otsego County Empire Zone.

Currently, he serves on the boards of Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care and the Otsego County Development Corporation. He has served on the Oneonta City School Board since November 2008.

He and his wife Carolyn and their two daughters reside in Oneonta.

Bill Grau

Bill Grau has worked for the SUNY system since 1994. He currently works for the SUNY SICAS Center, a group that provides software, training and other services to 42 of the 64 SUNY campuses. He has served as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Speech Communication Department at the College at Oneonta. Bill recently served as President of the Oneonta Little League and is a current member of the Oneonta Soccer Club Board, College at Oneonta Athletic Hall of Fame Committee and the Red Dragon Open Scholarship Golf Tournament Committee.

Bill and his wife Monica and their two daughters reside in Oneonta.

Marilyn Rosas
Term Ends: June 30, 2013

Marilyn Rosas and her husband Nick have been residents of Oneonta for the past 34 years. Their children, Rebecca and Matthew are Oneonta High School graduates. A retired business and computer teacher, she received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University at Albany.

In addition to being a member of the Oneonta School Board, she is a member of the Oneonta Dollars for Scholars Board and President of the Otsego County Retired Teachers Association. She has been an active member of many community organizations and has taught Sunday school and confirmation classes at St. Mary's as well as volunteering her time at Saturday's Bread.
