How do I run Scandisk (Windows 95/98)???

 

Before continuing to Scandisk and Defrag, TURN OFF ANY screensavers or power management. Not doing this will make Scandisk and Defrag run poorly or not run at all.

To run Scandisk (Takes 5-10 Minutes) – TIP: Run Scandisk before running Defrag. If there are problems on the disk, Defrag will make you run scandisk first anyway.

Running Scandisk first could save you time, extra steps and frustration.

 

1. Double click on My Computer

2. Right click on the C drive

3. Left click on Properties

4. Go to the Tools Tab

5. Under Error Checking section click the Check Now button

6. Click and highlight the drive you want to scan

7. Click the radio button next to Thorough

8. Check Automatically fix errors

9. Click Start

10. Close when Scandisk is finished
