Why is my computer locking up???

1. How many programs are you running? Too many things open can drain memory your memory and processing power causing lockups.

2. Have your tried rebooting? Or unplugging your pc, letting it sit for 30 seconds or more and trying it again?

3. Does it seem like your computer locks up in one program? If so, which one and has it been uninstalled and reinstalled?

4. Update and run AdAware, SpyBot and a virus checker. Maybe some junkware got onto your PC and is causing it to lockup.

5. Try running Disk Cleanup. (Click here for instructions on how to do this.)

6. Try running Scandisk (Windows 95/98) or CheckDisk (Windows 2000/XP). (Click here for instructions for how to do this.)

7. Try running Disk Defragmenter. (Click here for instructions on how to do this.)
