Fall 2008 Program for High School and Middle School Classrooms
The premise behind the Technology-Enabled Teacher program is to offer those teachers who are interested the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of technology skills and curricular technology resources in a thoughtful way. The program is especially interested in teachers encouraging student use of the new technologies.  Participants will select $1000 worth of classroom technology per participant (or $4,000 per team), such as a laptop computer, student response “clickers”, or a media cart with a document camera and a data projector. Participating teachers are provided with the appropriate training to make use of these new resources. By completion of the program, participants will:

1. Understand the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS-T)
2. Understand the National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS) and be prepared to encourage student use of appropriate technologies to address at least one standard.
3. Make use of technology for their own productivity purposes.
4. Make use of technology as a learning tool for their students.

**Applications are due by 4:00 PM, Monday, April 28th, 2008.  Electronic submissions are strongly encouraged.**
