Project
  • 5th and 6th grade students will write stories, tall tales, fables, new myths in a written, publishable form following guidelines and rubrics.  Student will record themselves reading their work on a digital voice recorder to use for a podcast. Younger children will listen to the stories and then compose and record music and sound effects to enhance the podcasts.  Students will be listening and creating for a unique language arts experience

Project:
  • We would like students to include artifacts, photos, written work in student-published nature books.  We will take two field trips to Pine Lake Environmental Center; once in the winter and once in the spring.  The students will make comparisons, take pictures using digital cameras and utilize GPS units for exploration of geographical features.  Students will create a final collage project using a document camera.  Students will present their final projects using the document camera, data projector, digital cameras and computers.

From January to June 2008 the above teachers will participate in monthly staff development sessions and will have guaranteed curricular technology support in their classrooms at the time they introduce a new program. They have agreed to present the final results of their respective projects to the district during the fall of 2008.

Please join us in congratulating them!
