NYS Testing Program

NEW YORK STATE TESTING PROGRAM: New York State Board of Regents has established high performance standards for all students. Instruction in all Oneonta schools is aligned with these standards and teachers routinely assess student progress. In addition to normal classroom assessments, students are required to demonstrate their knowledge and skills through the State’s Testing Program. Students in Grades 3-8 are tested annually in English language arts and math. Students in Grades 4 and 8 are also tested in science, and those in Grades 5 and 8 are also assessed in social studies. In addition to NYS Elementary and Intermediate Level Assessments, students need to earn 22 credits as outlined by State Diploma Requirements. For more information about New York State Testing Program check the State Education Department website.
