Welcome to the Greater Plains Elementary School Web Page. As you can see, Greater Plains takes great pride in our programs and community atmosphere that we provide to 355 students.

The environment at Greater Plains is supportive of students, parents, teachers and staff working together. Through programs such as: Friday Morning Program, "We are a Community," Read and Sleep, the Extended Afterschool and summer Programs, and an intermediate Drama Club, we strive to create a strong sense of belonging. Our Vocal and Instrumental Music Programs also take great pride in their annual community performances that show a superior knowledge of music and its value to education.

The recent State Report Card offers a brief overview of the academic gains that Greater Plains has made. Last year, nearly 90 percent of our fourth graders met State requirements on the English Language Arts and Math assessments.

We are most fortunate to have so many wonderful parents who are supportive of academics, student programs and staff development. We seek academic decisions with the input of parents, staff and administration. A monthly Building Team Meeting allows for all of the above individuals to assess and plan programs that meet the new local and State Benchmarks.
