Greater Plains Elementary School

General Information

Greater Plains has approximately 350 students, and is part of the Oneonta City
 School District.  It is nestled at the base of a rolling hill where it is surrounded by a 26 acre Outdoor Education Nature Trail.  Oneonta is known as the "City of the Hills" and is located in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains.

We believe that each child should become all he, or she, is capable of becoming. We believe that a Greater Plains education is defined by a student who can succeed at their next level of endeavor, who believes in worth and dignity of themselves and who will pursue life-long learning in an ever-changing, richly diverse society.
