Riverside Read-a-Thon for Haiti
6th graders at Riverside are taking part in a 12 hour read-in today from 9am to 9pm to raise money to send to the "Save the Children" fund which has been stationed in Haiti since 1976. The students have given up PE and Recess to accomplish their Read-in goal of reading all day. Many 6th graders will also be staying overnight at Riverside school to finish their Read-in until 9pm. Students have collected sponsors to raise money and hope to send it to Haiti's "Save the Children" early next week. If you would like to donate to this cause, you can send a check made payable to Riverside PTO or Save the Children (Tax deductible). If you do so, please contact Suzanne Johnson at Riverside school.
