In the past year, Oneonta CSD principals, teachers and counselors have seen increasing numbers of students with social and emotional health issues that we believe have ties to excessive use of smartphones and social media. At the same time, we are discovering many instructional benefits of using mobile technologies in our classrooms. How can educators and parents work together to moderate student screen time and make appropriate instructional use of technology, while raising active, happy and healthy learners?
