Last Friday students and staff were able to watch the original libretto, "Stomping Grounds" written by Paige Hernandez. It is a story about a young woman, Yesi, who is endanger of losing her coffee shop to a big developer. 8th Graders have been reading the libretto have read some articles about the effects of gentrification on communities.
This Hip Hopera will world premiere at Glimmerglass Festival this August. We were so lucky to see this performance, watch the trailer below to learn more about this amazing experience.
