The National Speech and Debate Society, which oversees teams at high schools and middle schools in the US and abroad, has selected Oneonta High School’s Speech and Debate Team to receive the Leading Chapter Award for the Iroquois District for our work at tournaments over the past five years. Although we are a small team, we have sent students to Nationals every year but one since 2011. Out of 3,000 schools nationwide, we are in a select group of 110 to receive the Leading Chapter Award for our achievements. Please congratulate President Ruby French, Treasurer Jocelyn Turley, as well as Tinsley Buffington and Buddy Noorlander for their fine work! Our team is also proud to welcome Caleb Casey, Sabrina Antrosio, and Andrew Lentner as new and promising competitors.
