OHS Students Qualify For National SkillsUSA Championships
Two Oneonta High School students will be representing New York at a national competition this summer. 
Athena Basdekis and Andrew Morell are among several students enrolled in programs through ONC BOCES who took top honors at the SkillsUSA State Championships in Syracuse in late April. 
Athena and Andrew are enrolled in the ONC BOCES Engineering program. The duo took a first-place finish in the Mobile Robotics category.
They were among four ONC BOCES students who qualified for the SkillsUSA National Championships in June at Louisville, Ky.
The annual SkillsUSA State Championships featured high school students from technical schools and BOCES programs throughout the state competing in a variety of events. The competition features more than 60 contests clustered within numerous job fields that include computer and communications, construction, culinary, health, leadership, mechanics, and security and law.
