SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age
The Oneonta City School District is pleased to host a FREE screening of SCREENAGERS: GROWING UP IN THE DIGITAL AGE.  We are happy to announce that filmmaker and pediatrician Delaney Ruston, M.D. will be present to introduce this film and to moderate thoughtful conversation with parents. In the past year, Oneonta CSD principals, teachers and counselors have seen increasing numbers of students with social and emotional health issues that we believe have ties to excessive use of smartphones and social media. At the same time, we are discovering many instructional benefits of using mobile technologies in our classrooms. How can educators and parents work together to moderate student screen time and make appropriate instructional use of technology, while raising active, happy and healthy learners?
 
*Oneonta City School District students in grades 5 and up will be seeing this film during the day on May 8th. Parents that are unable to attend the evening presentation may consider sitting in during their student’s assembly during the day, per the below schedule:
 
May 8th (All assemblies will be held in Belden Auditorium at OHS).
High School Student Assembly:          7:45 AM – 9:12 AM
Grade 5 Assembly:                                10:00 AM – 11:25 AM
Middle School Assembly:                     12:55 PM – 2:20 PM
