Valleyview 3rd Graders Visit Fox Nursing Home
During the week of May 1st - 5th, 3rd grade library classes from Valleyview School celebrated National Children's Book Week by taking walking field trips to the Fox Hospital Nursing Home to read to the residents. Students chose and practised reading aloud their books in advance, then on May 1st Mr. Sider's library class visited the nursing home residents while Mrs. Bellen's class took the trip on May 5th. All involved had a wonderful time, and it was a very positive experience for young and old alike. Thanks to Robin Voorhis and all the staff at the Fox Nursing Home for helping to make this a terrific annual event. This marks the 9th year in which select Oneonta 3rd grade library classes have celebrated National Children's Book Week by reading to the residents at the Fox Hospital Nursing Home...
