Oneonta, N.Y. – May 8, 2017 – The Oneonta City School District will bring a $18M Capital Project to vote on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Foothills Performing Arts & Civic Center. Voting hours are scheduled from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. Prior to the vote a community public informational meeting is being held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 6 p.m. in the District Office conference room. The public informational meeting will include a presentation of the proposed project details followed by a question and answer session.
The Oneonta City School District has worked hard to make sure this project covers a large scope of work including items that have succumbed to normal wear and tear such as roofs and boilers and other projects that are program related. Examples of program related projects include technology upgrades and the renovation of tech, music, art, and family & consumer science classroom spaces.
The project will preserve prior investments, but also make necessary site repairs as well as address outdated systems too costly to maintain. Careful financial planning allows the prioritized project list to be realized with minimal impact to taxpayers.
Proposed project details will be discussed in greater length during the public information meeting. All District residents are encouraged to attend and learn the specific and what it can do for our community
