When a parent chooses to keep their child in the Remote Instruction model, the following differences may occur:
- The child may not have their regularly assigned classroom teacher and may be integrated with other students, from other buildings, who have elected to remain remote.
- Due to the complex nature of offering a hybrid learning option, the structure of the remote offering may be different than the remote option currently being offered while ALL students are in remote mode.
- Although those learning in the remote environment may return to the hybrid learning environment, the District is asking that if such decision is made, that it runs concurrent with the District's established five week interim and report card dates. Please provide the District with at least one week's advanced notice of a plan to switch to the hybrid model.
Remote Instruction students will continue to receive instructional experiences that include:
- Meaningful and frequent interaction with an appropriately certified teacher;
- Academic and other supports designed to meet the needs of the individual student; and
- Instructional content that reflects academic expectations consistent with those which would be required for in-person instruction.
Remote Instructional experiences may include, but are not limited to:
- Completing online modules or tasks;
- Viewing instructional videos;
- Responding to posts or instructor questions;
- Engaging with other class participants in an online format such as ZOOM:
- Conducting research;
- Doing projects; or
- Meeting with an instructor face to face, via an online platform, or by phone.
