What is Hybrid Instruction?

During Hybrid instruction, in order to maintain safe distance between students, half of the student population will attend school in person on Mondays and Tuesdays (the BLUE cohort) and the other half will attend in person on Thursdays and Fridays (the YELLOW cohort).

While attending in person, we will abide by the guidelines included in the Framework for Reopening Schools document. That document describes all of the safety measures we will have in place while providing in-person instruction. In general,

  1. Parents/ guardians will health screen prior to arriving at school
  2. Students will move about the building (e.g. will not remain in just one room) and will follow their schedules including specials at acceptable social distancing.
  3. All will wear masks while in the buildings and mask breaks will be provided. *
  4. Lunch will be preordered meals for those buying lunch and students will be spread out accordingly.
  5. Student cohorts have been created to reduce the number of the students in class at any given time. We will follow CDC physical distancing recommendations based on square footage
When each cohort is in remote mode ( e.g. remote mode for the BLUE cohort will be on Wed-Friday each week), they will continue to receive instructional experiences that include:

  1. Meaningful and frequent interaction with an appropriately certified teacher;
  2. Academic and other supports designed to meet the needs of the individual student; and
  3. Instructional content that reflects academic expectations consistent with those which would be required for in-person instruction.
Instructional experiences may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Completing online modules or tasks;
  2. Viewing instructional videos;
  3. Responding to posts or instructor questions;
  4. Engaging with other class participants in an online or phone discussion;
  5. Conducting research;
  6. Doing projects; or
  7. Meeting with an instructor face to face, via an online platform, or by phone.
*if your child has an underlying condition which precludes him/her from wearing a mask, remote instruction would be your best option during this time
