Oneonta High School senior Zen Lavin has been selected to perform in a prestigious regional music ensemble.

Zen is among more than 780 of the most musically talented high school students in the Eastern United States chosen for the 2019 NAFME All-Eastern Honors Ensembles. He will perform in the All-Eastern Honors Mixed Chorus as a Tenor I. The biennial event will take place in Pittsburgh in April during the Eastern Division Conference of The National Association for Music Education.
Zen, with the help of OHS Choir Director Megan Dyer, will prepare to perform challenging vocal music with the ensemble under the leadership of prominent choral conductor and composer Rollo Dillworth from Temple University.

The NAFME All-Eastern Honors Ensembles, consisting of a concert band, symphony orchestra, mixed chorus, treble chorus, and jazz ensemble, are organized by members of The National Association for Music Education. Zen will be among more than 300 vocalists in the mixed chorus alone.

Lavin will perform with the other ensembles in the Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh on Sunday, April 7.
