At the September 11, 2019 Board of Education Meeting Superintendent, Thomas Brindley announced that the OHS baseball facility will be known as the “JOE HUGHES FIELD”. Mr. Joe Hughes has served the Oneonta City School District and the Oneonta community for 35 years as a teacher, coach, and athletic director. Mr. Brindley stated; “The list of titles that Joe has donned is a lengthy one. However, his impact on our school district has been exceptional. During his 21 year tenure as athletic director, he was driven to provide the athletes of Oneonta with the best possible student-athlete experience. He worked to create the best possible facilities, hire the best coaches, and create a top-notch athletic program.
