On March 18, three Oneonta High School students in the Liberty Partnerships Program—Kaspen Sorrell (11th grade), Ava McManus (10th grade), and Jupiter Miller (9th grade)—traveled to Albany to meet with Assemblyman Brian Miller and discuss the importance of funding for the 2026 state budget.
Each student shared how the program has positively shaped their academic journey and personal growth.
“The students who were invited to speak with Assemblyman Miller are just some of the students who have shown great improvement across the board, empirically and otherwise, since joining the Liberty Partnerships Program,” said Zoë Lamphere, LPP Advocate. “We advocated today for the continued success of our students and to raise awareness of the efficacy and vitality of the program to the state of New York. Our students wanted to speak, and wanted to be heard.”
LPP offers daily support rooted in socio-emotional development and academic achievement, helping students overcome challenges and build toward success.
