Welcome to the Oneonta High School, a 9-12th grade building that believes that young adults should have an opportunity to grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually in a supportive environment guided by a compassionate and professional staff.  Our dedicated teachers, licensed Teaching Assistants, counselors, and support staff create a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities for our students.  Our student-centered approach to education focuses on creating well-rounded and empowered lifelong learners with the knowledge to contribute, the skills to adapt, and the values to lead.  We strive to provide an inclusive environment where all students can be successful and feel valued as they prepare for life beyond high school.

Mr. Kevin Stevens

My name is Kevin J. Stevens, and I’ve proudly been part of the Yellowjacket Team since 2021.

My journey with Oneonta began years ago as an undergraduate at SUNY Oneonta, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Earth Science. I went on to spend 17 years teaching Earth Science and Chemistry at Milford Central School. During that time, I also earned a Master’s degree in Adolescent Education from SUNY Oneonta and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from Binghamton University.

Before joining the team at Oneonta High School, I served as Assistant Principal at ONC BOCES’ OAOC campus and Coordinator of Adult Education at ONC BOCES. Each of these roles helped shape my approach to leadership and deepened my commitment to supporting students and educators alike.

Oneonta High School is truly a special place. Every day, I’m inspired by our exceptional teachers, dedicated students, and the vibrant energy that fills our halls. From academic achievements to extracurricular clubs, concerts, and athletic competitions, there's always something happening here.  I consider it a privilege to witness our students grow and thrive in so many ways.

I’m honored to be part of a school community that strives daily to improve itself and support one another. At Oneonta, we stand united as "One – Oneonta"—curious, engaged, connected, and trustworthy.

As your principal, I’m always here to listen and collaborate. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or ideas. Together, we’ll continue building a school that empowers every student to reach their full potential.
