The 2025 OCSD Annual Art Show officially opened Tuesday evening, May 13th, with a well-attended reception at the Southside Mall. Stretching from JCPenney to TJMaxx, the exhibit transforms the center corridor into a vibrant showcase of creativity and talent from Oneonta City School District students.

The display was installed the day before by the OCSD Art Department and members of the National Art Honor Society, who worked together to prepare the exhibit for public viewing. Their effort set the stage for an evening full of color, connection, and celebration.

During the reception, guests enjoyed refreshments and participated in an interactive art scavenger hunt—an engaging way for students and families to explore the exhibit. Visitors took their time walking through the rows of display boards, pausing to admire work from artists across all grade levels. From bold mixed-media pieces to delicate pencil drawings, the range and quality of the artwork were remarkable.

“The student work is incredible, and students are so proud to show it to you,” said Mrs. Sue Morell, Oneonta Middle School Art Teacher. “We thank you for your continued support of our programs.”

The art show will remain on display at the Southside Mall through June 5, and the community is encouraged to stop by and enjoy the work of our talented student artists.

Thank you to everyone who attended the opening reception and continues to support the arts in our schools.
