2026 Budget Vote: Approved!

On Tuesday, May 19th, the Oneonta City School District held its annual budget vote. OCSD residents cast their ballots for the district's budget, a bus proposition, and Board of Education members. The results reflected strong community support across all items on the ballot.

The budget passed with 362 votes in favor and 94 opposed. The bus proposition earned similar support with 362 yes votes and 93 no votes. Relative to the Board of Education, incumbent Mr. Shawn Beckerink secured another term, and Mrs. Emily Popek was elected to serve as the district's newest board member.

Superintendent Thomas F. Brindley expressed gratitude to the community for their engagement and support, "We are incredibly grateful to the residents of the Oneonta City School District for coming out and supporting our students, our staff, and our schools." Brindley added, "This vote is a reflection of the trust this community places in us, and we do not take that lightly. Every dollar, every decision, and every effort we make is focused on giving our students the best possible future."
