🐝 And then there was ONE!

For the past nine days, we’ve counted down together. We’ve talked about belonging, finding your place, trying something new and all of the possibilities waiting in the year ahead. Now, there’s nothing left to count.

Tomorrow morning, students across our district will walk through our doors and officially begin the 2026–2027 school year.

To our Yellowjackets starting something brand new, returning to familiar halls or beginning one of those milestone years you’ll always remember, we hope you’re ready for a great one. We certainly are. 💙💛

That’s a wrap on our countdown. We’ll see you tomorrow, Yellowjackets! 🐝

We’re officially down to TWO, Yellowjackets! 🐝

For weeks, we’ve been counting the days, getting our buildings ready and looking ahead to the start of another year together. Now, September 8 is almost here, and we can practically feel that first day excitement!

Soon, buses will be rolling, doors will be opening and familiar faces will be making their way through our schools once again. Whether this is your very first first day with OCSD or you’ve done this a few times before, we’re so excited to welcome you.

Enjoy your Sunday and the Labor Day holiday tomorrow, Yellowjackets. Tuesday morning, it’s go time! 🐝

Just 3️⃣ days to go, Yellowjackets! 🐝

A new school year is a little bit like an adventure. You may know where you’re starting, but you never quite know where the year will take you.

Maybe you’ll meet a new best friend. Find a subject you can’t stop talking about. Take on something that once felt impossible. Make a memory you’ll still be laughing about years from now. Or discover something about yourself you never knew before.

That’s the exciting part. There’s a whole year of possibilities waiting for you.

Pack the backpack, sharpen the pencils and get ready, Yellowjackets. Your next step starts here. 💙💛

4️⃣ days until the spotlight is yours! ✨

There’s more than one way to be a Yellowjacket.

For some students, it’s stepping onto a stage or taking the field. For others, it’s making music, creating art, joining a club, finding a favorite subject or discovering an interest they never expected.

That’s part of what a new school year is all about. Exploring what excites you, finding the people who share it and discovering where you shine.

Whether you already know what you love or you’re still figuring it out, there are opportunities waiting for you at OCSD.

Four more days. Your next opportunity might be closer than you think. 🐝

5️⃣ days until your next chapter begins! 📚

Every student who walks through our doors brings something uniquely their own. A new idea. A different perspective. A talent waiting to be discovered. An energy that changes the room.

Whether you’re starting your very first year with us or getting ready for your final year as a Yellowjacket, you have an important place in our schools and in our community.

Yesterday, we reminded our students that you belong here. Today, we want you to know something just as important:

You matter here. 💙💛

Our schools are better because of the students who fill them, and in just 5 days, we get to have you with us again.

There is something special about being a Yellowjacket. From a student walking through our doors for the very first time to a senior preparing for one final year, every student has a place here.

Across our schools, our students may be different ages, have different interests and follow different paths, but they are all part of something bigger. They are part of one district, one community and one Yellowjacket team.

In six days, our halls will be filled again with the students who bring our schools to life.

You are a Yellowjacket. You belong here. 💙💛
