Oneonta High School National Honor Society students kicked off the new year with an impressive academic win, taking home the championship title at the Upstate Academic Competition Quiz Bowl held yesterday at SUNY Oneonta.
Fifteen Oneonta students participated in the all day Quiz Bowl event, which featured fast paced rounds in a game show style format focused on academic knowledge, teamwork, and quick thinking. Oneonta advanced through each round of competition, steadily earning their place at the top and ultimately securing the championship.
The Oneonta team competed against students from Cooperstown Central School, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central School, Delaware Academy, Milford Central School, Seton Catholic Central, and Greene Central School District. The event was organized through the Catskill Area School Study Council and brought together academic standouts from across the region.
This first place finish is a point of pride for the Oneonta City School District and a strong reflection of the dedication and talent of our students. It was a meaningful way to begin the new year and a great example of how our scholars represent what it means to be a Yellowjacket.
GO 'JACKETS!
