Class of 2026 Senior Brunch

The Oneonta High School Class of 2026 marked a milestone Thursday morning at the historic Otesaga Resort Hotel, gathering for the annual Senior Brunch, a long-standing Yellowjacket tradition that signals the start of the final stretch of high school.

The morning brought classmates, teachers, and mentors together in a setting that has welcomed generations of OHS seniors before them. Though the sky was chilly and overcast, the rain held off, and the scenic views along Otsego Lake made for a memorable backdrop to the celebration.

OHS Principal Kevin Stevens opened with remarks that encouraged students to appreciate the moment and recognize the people who have supported them throughout their time at OHS. Senior Class President Rebecca Foko followed with an address that was both thoughtful and personal, thanking staff and classmates for the experiences that have shaped their class. She also took time to honor two retiring faculty members who were present for the occasion, Mrs. Janice Labroo, French Teacher, and Mrs. Mary Beth Stalder, OHS Library Media Specialist, recognizing their years of commitment and care for OHS students.

As Becky reminded her classmates, Senior Brunch carries a significance that goes beyond a meal shared among friends. It is the moment that officially signals the beginning of the end, with the senior trip, prom, and graduation now waiting just around the corner. Her message was one of gratitude, presence, and purpose. She encouraged every member of the Class of 2026 to take it all in, lean into one another, and finish their high school years the way they lived them, together and strong.

After brunch, seniors gathered on the back lawn of the Otesaga for photos before heading to the Farmers' Museum, where they enjoyed the carousel and spent the afternoon together before returning to school.

It was a tradition lived up to in every way, a chance for the Class of 2026 to pause, connect, and look ahead to the exciting weeks still to come.

GO 'JACKETS!
