Three Oneonta High School seniors were recognized on Wednesday, June 3, during the ONC BOCES Career and Technical Education (CTE) Signing Day, a special event celebrating students who have secured employment opportunities as they transition from high school to the workforce.

The annual ceremony brought together students, families, educators, and industry partners to recognize the hard work, dedication, and career readiness of students who have successfully completed their CTE programs and are beginning the next chapter of their professional journeys.

Representing Oneonta High School were seniors Julian Chauncey, Cory Robinson, and Wyatt Jones, each of whom signed commitments with local employers.

During the ceremony, ONC BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Catherine Huber spoke about the significance of the day and the collaborative efforts that helped students reach this milestone.

"Today is more than a ceremony," said Dr. Huber. "It is a celebration of collaboration, opportunity, and the transformative power of Career and Technical Education."

Dr. Huber also expressed gratitude to the families, educators, counselors, industry partners, and military representatives who have supported students throughout their educational journeys. She noted that Signing Day represents more than a commitment to a job or career path; it symbolizes the hard work, perseverance, and determination students have demonstrated in preparing for their futures.

The Oneonta City School District is proud to celebrate Julian, Cory, and Wyatt and all they have accomplished. Their success reflects the value of Career and Technical Education programs and the strong partnerships between schools and local businesses that help prepare students for meaningful careers.
