New faces filled the District Office today as we held our New Yellowjacket Orientation! This year's group is a mix, including OHS alumni returning to work for the district, parents of current Yellowjackets, and others who have made their way to Oneonta over the years, whether for college or a move to the area.

Director of Teaching and Learning Maizy Jaklitsch opened the day with a warm welcome, leading introductions and an activity that gave new staff a chance to meet one another before the sessions got underway.

Superintendent Brindley then shared the rich history of the Oneonta City School District, the generations of students and staff who have shaped it, and the shared responsibility of keeping our schools safe, welcoming, and focused on students.

Throughout the day, district leaders shared valuable information about teaching and learning, student support services, business operations, human resources, technology, and the many people and departments working together behind the scenes each day. New staff members also toured the District Office, connected with their new colleagues, and began building the relationships that make a strong school community possible.

Each person joining OCSD brings something different to our schools, and we are excited to see what they will add to our classrooms and buildings this year.

To our newest team members… welcome to the Oneonta City School District. You are officially part of the Yellowjacket family, and we are so glad you are here!

GO ‘JACKETS!
