Students have no need for cell-phones during the school day; however, personal computing devices, which often include phones, may have legitimate educational uses. Therefore, students may use such devices, but only under the supervision of a teacher. For example, students may use electronic devices to carry appropriate reading material or to take photos for a school project. They may not use such devices in any way that is disrespectful, disruptive or detracts in any way from their ability or the ability of others to focus on the lesson.
A student who fails to comply with this policy is being disorderly and is subject to disciplinary action, up to and including suspension from school
