Fall Sports Begin
Fall 2 Compressed Season Policy for Fans at Oneonta Events:
Away Fans: At this time only 2 fans per SENIOR athlete will be allowed for visiting teams. No fans for modified or JV contests.
Home Fans: At this time each Oneonta athlete at the modified, JV or Varsity levels for outdoor sports can have 2 fans at our home events if they are wearing masks and socially distanced.
When Oneonta travels, your coaches will know if that school is allowing fans or not for the visiting teams so please check with them the week of the contests.
Almost all contests will be streamed for family/friends to watch like the indoor sports and can be found on our athletics page https://www.oneontacsd.org/athletics_home.aspx
Per the guidance, it also allows schools to be more restrictive and many schools are doing that for indoor sports. So just like with the basketball and boys swimming seasons, Oneonta will NOT be having fans for any indoor events. The ONLY exception will be the parents of seniors on senior night.
For away contests you will have to watch the contests via the link we will have on our school athletics page. Some of the Binghamton schools have the NFHS network which has a fee attached to make an account.
SO UNFORTUNATELY at this time, students are NOT allowed to attend the contests of their friends unless they are one of the two people allowed.
**Should any new information develop I will get word to each coach to pass along to their teams and families as well as post on the athletics page. Thank you.
Any questions or concerns please reach out to Jerry Mackey (Athletic Director) at 433-8251 or via email at [email protected]
The Famly ID online sports sign-up will NOT be available until 30 days BEFORE each specific sport season. This will make it possible for each family to do the health history questionnaire within 30 days of start like NYS requires. We will continue to update information as decisions are made. Thank you and ‘Jackets pride!
