ADA Compliance

ADA Compliance

As of June, 2017, Oneonta City School District is taking proactive steps towards making our web presence ADA compliant.

Just as our brick and mortar locations must be accessible to all of our community members, our website should also be accessible.

Accessibility means equal or equivalent access by a person with a disability.

Technology is accessible if it can be used as effectively by people with disabilities as by those without.

*Note: We can only control the accessibility of our own content.  We do provide links to many outside resources that we feel are important to our families, however, those sites may not meet website accessibility requirements.

Until our site is fully compliant, please use the below resources to understand the process and share any concerns you may have.

Steps Towards Compliance

  1. We will tag all web site images/photos and image links with alternative text so that screen readers can identify them.
  2. We will include closed-captioning with all posted videos.
  3. We will be conscientious of usage of fonts and colors (both text and background) to improve accessibility.
  4. We will ensure all PDF documents are accessible by screen readers.
  5. We will ensure all electronic forms are accessible by screen readers.
