  • Some animals make their homes, live and survive in the wild.
  • Living spaces and homes of wild animals are called habitats.
  • Wild animals live in different parts of the world called regions.
  • Animal survival depends on the plants and animals of that same region.
  • Some wild animals live in capitivity such as zoos, aquariums, parks, farms, and ranches. They are cared for and depend on special workers.
  • Farm animals live in barns, barnyards, or on ranches; they are cared for and depend on farmers.
  • Pets live in the homes of people; they are cared for and depend on their owners. Some pets are homeless and live in shelters.
